In the feed industry, methionine is the largest amount, used as a nutrient fortifier of feed, make up for the balance of amino acids feed additive. Lack of methionine in livestock and poultry can cause stunting, weight loss, weakened liver and kidney function, muscle atrophy, fur deterioration and so on. When 1kg methionine is added into the diet, the nutritional value of fish meal is equivalent to 50kg. The supplemental amount of methionine in feed is generally 0.05% ~ 0.2%.
